Let every heart prepare him room" - The run up to Christmas and the summer break is always hectic and full. Let's take some time out at the start of the Advent period to "prepare him room" , by worshipping and praying together, grounding ourselves in Jesus and the hope we have in him. We will also take time to pray for our community and the opportunities we have to share the hope of Jesus at Christmas.

Raising Confident and Resilient Children - Parenting Place Seminar

Life’s not always a walk in the park or a trip to the playground, but with support, challenges can become opportunities for our children to develop their resilience. This talk sheds light on the struggles that can hold our kids back, as well as parenting tools to make the most of character-growth moments. A relatable and inspiring talk offering the injection of hope parents need to raise kids who are happy, confident and resilient, both now and into their future.

Jenny Hale has been part of the Parenting Place team for nearly 24 years (she is setting a record!). Her lifelong passion is working with families and helping them find solutions to the challenges that come hand in hand with parenting. Jenny enjoys writing for parents as well as speaking to audiences around the country. She is the author of Kind, Firm, Calm, a transformative parenting handbook where Jenny distilled her decades of learning, wisdom and deep care for families.

Join us from 7pm for tea, coffee and nibbles for a 7.15pm start.

Tickets are $5 per person to help cover facilitator and venue costs. (Miramar Salvation Army are covering all other costs not covered by entry fees). You can purchase one through eventbrite here https://www.eventbrite.co.nz/e/raising-confident-and-resilient-children-parenting-place-seminar-tickets-732346697687?aff=oddtdtcreator
Tickets can also be purchased at the Salvation Army Miramar church office Mon-Fri 9am-4pm.

School Holidays Play Morning

An invitation from Sarah at Salvation Army Miramar:

We have really been enjoying hosting a School Holiday Play morning each holidays in our space. I have been inspired again this morning that unity and working together to bless our community is always a good thing.

So, any families are invited to our play morning on Friday 6th October. Also, if you are a children’s leader you might want to come along too, you are welcome. It is a great chance to connect with our community. We usually have some simple crafts/colouring in and our mainly music play toys out in our main church auditorium.

Please RSVP so they can cater morning tea by emailing miramar.corps@salvationarmy.org.nz
